Look of Love
Many eyes of a School of Fish / Beaucoup de yeux d'une École des Poissons

Now I'm on my way to home,
But started very late.
Found an hotel to stay alone.
Daisy will have to wait.
16 hundred photographs
We took of the wedding.
Beaming wonder's tears and laughs,
The Look of Love did sing.
Like a school of fish does see
With many, many eyes.
Then from Barracuda does flee,
Each one, on every side.
We live our lives in parallel
Though at the same event.
Life gives our sight to share and tell
What experience sent.
Watching the photos of others
Then all mixed up with mine,
Made deeper knowing of lovers -
Their every aspects shine.
Time, angles and perspective
With other differences;
Did shine on worlds our Love would give
To each others hearts then
And teach how Love can mend.

Marriage Vows
---------------
I'm here at my hotel,
"Le Manoir de la Forêt;"
After two days of hell
Driving so far to play;
To help Patrice and Christelle,
To observe their marriage,
Their complice and their vows,
Their turning to new page.
They've been together now
At least for 12-years long.
They've chosen to make vows
For reasons of their own song.
Which has rhythm of own.
Others must just observe.
We must let loving's song
Sing love as trust's deserved.
We can hope only that we
Might help as witnesses.
As they're not eloping,
But share their light with us.
As their photographer,
I hope to show to them
How beautiful they are;
So love might grow even
For old lovers and friends.
Your love lifts everyone.
Thank you for what you've done.

After Wedding's Song
--------------------
In the morning after all
Has been said and done,
After tears and laughter called
Sent from Wedding's Song;
After all effort and plans;
After what was made;
After saw the care from friends
And family that day;
After heard moving service,
Inspired ceremony,
With words and music to all bless
Towards our higher being;
After making sacred vows
Before the world and God;
After realizing somehow
Our commitments were good;
After wild celebrations,
Fine dining, shows and dance;
After laughter's libations -
Fine wine, champagne, romance;
After all is memory
Becoming now a dream;
Then Love calls so Spirit sees
That we did sing Love's hymn
So we would bring Love home.

Mohammad Ali's Life Recipe - How he wanted to be remembered
MUHAMMAD ALI INTERVIEW WITH DAVID FROST - 1974
David Frost:
What would you like people to think about you when you’ve gone?
Mohammad Ali:
I’d like for them to say: “He took a few cups of love.
He took one tablespoon of patience,
One teaspoon of generosity,
One pint of kindness.
He took one quart of laughter,
One pinch of concern.
And then, he mixed willingness with happiness.
He added lots of faith,
And he stirred it up well.
Then he spred it over a span of a lifetime,
And he served it to it to each and every deserving person he met.”
David Frost:
Mohammad Ali, thank you very much!

Hard Luck - Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain
Here is short clip from "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain" in the spirit of the character, Amélie - to inspire, to believe, to love - even when things seem darkest and without hope.
This is a scene after a temper tantrum by the "homme de verre" (man of glass), a sometimes bitter and cranky old man with such brittle bones that he can never leave his house for fear of serious injury. He has spent the last 20 years alone inside his apartment painting and re-painting his yearly rendition of Renoir's "Luncheon at the Boating Party" (see below). This is a painting of a bright, social life exactly opposite from his own. This is a wonderful metaphor of how we spiral in circles, repeating old patterns over and over, until we can evolve and grow.
He has discussed with Amélie the "fille avec le verre d'eau" (girl with glass of water) in the center of the Renoir painting who seems all alone and lonely amidst the social party - much like Amélie is in her life - trying to help her break out of her introvert shell while she is able, before she becomes like him.
In this scene he receives a second, home-recorded, video tape secretly made and sent from Amélie - who is trying to show him (and us) the wonders of life and ways other "handicapped" and wounded people have somehow found the courage to deal with their losses and problems. We're inspired by the poor, old, black man with "Hard Luck" who, without a leg, dances a delightful jig.
There is an old America saying: When given a lemon, make lemonade. Perhaps we can remember and believe that "Hard Luck" is still Luck. Somehow everything is perfect, and we will one day understand how everything fits together as if it was meant to be.

Quotation and movie poster from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amélie
I cannot recommend this movie too highly. It is a wonderful portrait of our secret broken lives and how best to heal and grow and love. It is a artistic masterpiece being nominated for 5 Academy Awards and winning many other awards including Best Film at both the European Film Awards and César Awards. I have watched it many, many times; and am always moved by its message of hope, by its beautiful colors and characters, and by its sparkling clear mirror of what I believe our lives are really about.

Tracy Chapman - All That You Have Is Your Soul
Tracy Chapman
'All That You Have Is Your Soul"
Oh my mama told me
'Cause she say she learned the hard way
She say she wanna spare the children
She say don't give or sell your soul away
'Cause all that you have is your soul
So don't be tempted by the shiny apple
Don't you eat of a bitter fruit
Hunger only for a taste of justice
Hunger only for a world of truth
'Cause all that you have is your soul
Well I was a pretty young girl once
I had dreams I had high hopes
I married a man he stole my heart away
He gave his love but what a high price I paid
All that you have is your soul
So don't be tempted by the shiny apple
Don't you eat of a bitter fruit
Hunger only for a taste of justice
Hunger only for a world of truth
'Cause all that you have is your soul
Why was I such a young fool
Thought I'd make history
Making babies was the best I could do
Thought I'd made something that could be mine forever
Found out the hard way one can't possess another
And all that you have is your soul
So don't be tempted by the shiny apple
Don't you eat of a bitter fruit
Hunger only for a taste of justice
Hunger only for a world of truth
'Cause all that you have is your soul
I thought, thought that I could find a way
To beat the system
To make a deal and have no debts to pay
I'd take it all, Id take it all, I'd run away
Me for myself first class and first rate
But all that you have is your soul
So don't be tempted by the shiny apple
Don't you eat of a bitter fruit
Hunger only for a taste of justice
Hunger only for a world of truth
'Cause all that you have is your soul
Here I am, I'm waiting for a better day
A second chance
A little luck to come my way
A hope to dream, a hope that I can sleep again
And wake in the world with a clear conscience and clean hands
'Cause all that you have is your soul
So don't be tempted by the shiny apple
Don't you eat of a bitter fruit
Hunger only for a taste of justice
Hunger only for a world of truth
'Cause all that you have is your soul
Oh my mama told me
'Cause she say she learned the hard way
She say she wanna spare the children
She say don't give or sell your soul away
'Cause all that you have is your soul
All that you have
All that you have
All that you have
Is your soul

Wisdom of "Gloriette"
It's round with 8 places;
With symbols to hope Love lets
Surround seasons' faces.
Worked on table many weeks
Until was satisfied;
The work made able symbols speak
To tell how Wholeness tried
To grow, evolve through each season,
Evolving day and night;
To know what Love would teach each son
And daughter with its Light.
At mid-season when change is calm
We can relax a bit
Until new season's derrange comes
To man like axe to quit
The habits and the comfort zones
That worked then here-to-fore.
We must quit but like child phones home
We long season before.
When all was "good" and understood,
When didn't need to change.
When Love withstood with Wonder's food,
And shadows hid their rage -
And "bad" was then old age.

The Gloriette and table mosaic design was chosen to try and express in a non-verbal, symbolic, even mathematical way something about growth, evolution and Wholeness; using circles in squares & squares in circles; multiples of the number 4 in aspect, dimension and design; evolving dark and light; and other "big picture" reflection expressions of Life.
The number 4 symbolizes Wholeness to me like the 4 seasons (in each year or of a life total) and the 4 dimensions. Thus growing, spiraling squares symbolizes Wholeness at each place and time; and evolution of that Wholeness.

There are about 400 pieces of tile inside the spiraling pattern and 400 outside within the table in total (Perhaps symbolic for inner and outer balance). The Gloriette has 8 seats. The table is 1 meter 40 cm in diameter. The seats are 40 cm in depth. The plants are within circular pots held by 4-sided square holders. The inner spiraling pattern finishes in 4 sides is held within the larger circles of the table and the Gloriette.
Nearly every piece of the 800 tiles reflect a 4-sided or square pattern yet fits into a overall circle of Unity and Wholeness. The spiraling patterns forms a Fibonacci sequence, or "Golden Ratio," so common to all life forms (like sunflower seeds) and art.

The pattern outside of the inner spiral is also spiraling but changes direction on each side. This is like each season having its same but somehow different goals and patterns.
One interesting set of problems occurs during the transition from one season to the next (like our "mid-life crises"). Which vector of direction do we choose - that of the past or future? As we often try to hold on to the past and what is familiar, I chose to use the direction from the season past when confronted with the ambiguity.
One way to look at the "meaning" of the symbols in total is that all life (including we humans) start out Whole, like the innermost cicle. We become separate and divided but try throughout life to evolve and reach Wholeness. The light and dark (physically, psychologically, spiritually) also begins, grows and evolves.

Bummer

"Bummer" sculpture from friend, Rob Browne,
Does sum up love lost with sad frown;
With heart fallen, so far away.
No art Paul sends can really say
The magnitude of the loss,
Or then rescue love that's tossed
Overboard like something dead.
Lovers' warts do sing instead
Of kind, gentile messages;
To shine their blessings confessed
Of all that you mean to me,
Although only meaness see.
I know you are more than that.
I hold dear our loving Pat.
Who seems to want to let me go;
Never beam light here so we grow.
But enough light was sent before
This cruel love fight, this silent war;
That the flame will never die,
Though the blame and shame is high;
Though I must live without friend
If her trust's really at end;
If coldness is all she sends;
I'll remember what was then,
And 'till death our love defend.

Universe Cure
Dedicated to my beloved and wise friend Pat who taught my what "friendship" really means.
Although this movie uses a repetition of our "Love Cures" heart song of a year ago (published even in two movies and attempted several other times), like a recurring dream (nightmare?), it seems still current today. I believe one must finally find the courage and turn to face what is in pursuit, and try to understand what the Dream Maker is trying to say.
Perhaps it is as the last stanza of "Love Cures" says:
What does "friendship" really mean?
Commitment to our health & well-being
In the adventure of life.
With real friends, Love cures hurt lives.

"Creating Money Out of Air" by Howard Katz
Oh, Ben Bernanke does not care,
Creating money out of air.
Why just last week he said, “Aw shucks,
I think I’ll print a trillion bucks.”
That’s trillion, sir, spelled with a T.
And speaking just twixt you and me
That is an awful lot of dough.
And I can say, “I told you so.”
The Chinese minister named Wen
Said, “oh-oh here we go again.
I’m nervous, and I start to fret
Cause U.S. will not pay its debt.”
And dollar index hits a peak,
Falls 5% in just one week.
Of happiness it was not full
If you became a dollar bull.
I told you so; I’m very brash.
I told you all that cash is trash.
I’m telling all, both young and old.
To call your broker; buy some gold.
Yes, buy your gold; it’s going up.
You’ll be as happy as a pup.
It’s not too late for I do know
It’s got a long, long way to go.

This short animation is presented because it so artfully, succinctly and enjoyably explains something very complex and difficult to understand, the Credit Crisis - a crisis that is changing all of our lives. This was made by a very talented, college student in design, Jonathan Javis - a real artist and teacher. This "Art" is a wonderful example of real merging of right and left-brain work and is truly a gift to us all.

What I did for Love - Ce que j'ai fait pour l'amour
What I did for Love -
Ce que j'ai fait pour l'amour
Wasn't what Life's horror shoved.
Wasn't all that slavery,
But was Paul's inspired "Be."
"Pauli" is my little name.
What daddy called before blame.
Who I was, and now again.
Whom I'm called by loving friends.
A little boy whose also big,
With the joy of little kid.
Who does love the puppies so
When they run for balls we throw;
When they play and sing their song;
When they stay though we are wrong
And lose patience much too fast.
Like a patient dying fast
In hospital all alone
With machines but no love shown.
Who can heal in such a world?
When life steals love's touch unheard.
How can I see anyway
Through the lie, lonely man's way?
Do for Love again, again
What I did for Love for friend.

Hamlet's Soliloquy / Le Soliloque d'Hamlet - Kenneth Branagh
Hamlet's Soliloquy (Hamlet Act 3, Scene 1)
by William Shakespeare
To be, or not to be--that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them. To die, to sleep--
No more--and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to. 'Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep--
To sleep--perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub,
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause. There's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life.
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
Th' oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office, and the spurns
That patient merit of th' unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscovered country, from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all,
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprise of great pitch and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry
And lose the name of action. -- Soft you now,
The fair Ophelia! -- Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remembered.
Telle terminaison doit tenter l’âme avide:
Remplis tes oraisons,
Nymphe, de mes péchés....

"Salvia, Salvia, Save Me" by Annie in Austin
This video is presented as it so aptly portrays a gardener and Artist who loves her garden and has found a wonderful way to solve the garden-killing problem of deer eating her plants: Salvia, Salvia. I believe instead of that we "do" the garden, rather it is much more true that the garden does us. The solution for so many of our problems is the garden. Annie in Austin seems to understand. Thank you, Annie, for the inspiration.

"Get Your Assets Into Gold" by Howard Katz
‘Tis end of year, 2008.
With history we had a date.
The New York Times, I do expound,
Put all financial markets down.
And Ben Bernanke’s very slow.
He’s in the back room printing dough.
I’m asking in my little rhyme,
“How come that this is not a crime?”
He’s printing dough, who knows what for?
He keeps on printing more and more.
I’d like to say, not being brash,
To get your assets out of cash.
They rob from poor to give to rich.
So do not listen to their pitch.
And when they say, “deflation, ho,”
Be sure to answer with a “No.”
2002, I nailed it cold.
I said to you, “Get into gold.”
But clever is as clever does.
I just didn’t know how right I was.
Things are much worse than I foresaw.
So turn the page and learn some more.
A sad, sad story does unfold.
So get your assets into gold.

Puccini's "O mio babbino caro" from Gianni Schicchi
Italian:
O mio babbino caro
Mi piace è bello, bello
Vo' andare in Porta Rossa
a comperar l'anello!
Sì, sì, ci voglio andare!
e se l'amassi indarno,
andrei sul Ponte Vecchio,
ma per buttarmi in Arno!
Mi struggo e mi tormento!
O Dio, vorrei morir!
Babbo, pietà, pietà!
Babbo, pietà, pietà!
Traduction en français:
O mon cher papa
Il me plai, Il est beau, beau
Je veux aller à Porta Rossa
pour acheter la boucle !
Oui, oui, je veux aller la !
et si mon amour étaient en vain,
j'irais sur le Pont Vieux,
mais pour me jeter dans Arno !
Je me consume et je me tourmente
O Dieu, je voudrais mourir
Papa, pitié, pitié!
Papa, pitié, pitié!
Translation in English:
O my dear papa
I like him, he is handsome, handsome
I want to go to Porta Rossa
to buy the ring!
Yes, yes, I want to go there!
And if my love were in vain,
I would go to the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge)
and throw myself in the Arno!
I am aching, I am tortured!
Oh God, I'd like to die!
Father, have pity, have pity!
Father, have pity, have pity!

"They Are a Printing Dough" by Howard Katz
This is a tale, sad but true,
A subject understood by few.
Important to be in the know
Because they are a printing dough.
To anybody with a brain,
The country’s going quite insane.
Supply of money, speak of crimes,
Is multiplying by 3 times.
So quickly run up to your boss.
Cause you don’t want him to be cross.
And tell him that you want a raise.
Or else you’ll get a job that pays.
Cause country now is in the den
Of man named helicopter Ben.
He’s printing money, tell no lies,
And dropping dollars from the skies.
With dollars printing, it’s not right.
It’s time that we stood up to fight.
So hasten and stick out your cup.
Cause prices all are going up.
Now Ford, GM, they’ll get their share.
And Pres. Obama doesn’t care.
There’s one thing that I clearly see:
No bailout comes for you and me.

The above chart - which proves Mr. Katz assertion about the recent TRIPLING (!) of the supply of money - is from the very important analysis by Jim Willie,"Lawsuits, the Cadaver & Gold" published December 16, 2008. As are all of Mr. Willie's insightful writings; this is very, very recommended to understand the current, critical macro economic and political situation and how we can best help ourselves and those we care about through a deeper understanding of reality - however difficult. It can be found at http://www.kitco.com/ind/willie/dec162008.html

The above chart is from an article by Howard Katz, "Depression by any other Name" and also shows the alarming rate of currency expansion with all the inflation effects that implies. Please find the article at http://www.kitco.com/ind/katz/dec162008.html

Choosing Light of Love
Choosing Light of Love
by Loveson G. Flower
The Light of Love is parallel.
It's not enough to know where else
The Light does shine at the same time.
But might we find the Love does rhyme?
Life doesn't repeat. It's true.
But rhymes, it seems, our whole life through.
The patterns start when we are kids;
Like lanterns our hearts shine within.
They know the wounds that need to heal
And show us goons that bleed and steal.
Whom we do choose to make our path
To try to lose our fear-filled wrath.
Divorces. Abandonment.
The wars to bless by wisdom sent.
To make outside by the drama
What is inside. Cry for mama.
Who must leave eventually.
Too soon? Let go of every
Judgement and pain of inner child
That does send again winter foul.
We re-create over again
All of the hate that love knew then.
Trying to make it better now.
I'll try to change cruel fate somehow.
But rhyming patterns do evoke
The same life tattered chains that choke.
The wounded inner child does see
New wounds bled then unconsciously.
Until decision not to try
Does kill the vision of Love high.
A self-fulfilling prophecy
Decides "To Be or not to Be."
How to Let Go of all that pain,
And let Love grow healthy again?
Don't give up. Express it all.
Show the Love. Confess. Then call
To hold real Lovers who love Paul
And grow Love feelings: break the walls.
There’s Love within forsaken halls.
by Loveson G. Flower

This video is the choosing, introduction / welcome / menu page of "Light of Love," a ≈100-minute DVD collection of "moving" pictures / stories / movements from "a ballet of Love becoming." "Light of Love" was created in about one year to understand and express profound personal truths after a wrenching, relationship-death trauma in 2004.
The intro, choosing page is an infinite loop with 4 variations of the same beautiful song, "Caresse Sur L'océan (Caress by the Ocean)" from Bruno Coulais' "Les Choristes (The Chorists)." Four is the magic, symbolic number for wholeness -- like the 4 dimensions and the 4 seasons. The final variation is of a young boy's beautiful and stirring singing.
The moving, living "Light of Love" is made up of all the colors of the rainbow. It dances and cycles through time from faint to strong and back again, never ending. The 8 different chapters (representing different aspects, epochs, feelings, understandings, sub-parts, stories, etc.) play over and over in their own sub-universes as do our various patterns. The greater Light, represented by the grand, pulsing rainbow; is behind and above our "Light of Love" and seems to pulsate like a universal, living heart-beat. The "Light of Love" seems to be moving towards the greater Light as perhaps an artistic attempt with but limited, human tools to describe an after-death experience, or a Spiritual reality with animated movement, changing colors and shadows, and evocative experience.
How can one express such profound ideas with but "moving" metaphors and "whole" experiences? The "Light of Love" expressions seemed to create themselves. They were not planned, and are perhaps but attempts to express deep personal and Spiritual truths using music, colors, animation, and dance; but with very few words.
The starring character is Gabrielle, perhaps representing our inner feminine who expresses herself with feelings and emotion without words. Other characters include: the "Light of Love" itself, Loveson who sometimes dances with Gabrielle, and moving photos of many friends and family. Loveson, our inner masculine, expresses thinking and analyses most often with language, symbols and (sometimes too many?) words. Thus, the reason for the Heart Song discipline: "Keep the Mind to the rhyme. Let the Heart do its part. So beyond either mode, the Soul shows the road."
Our "nom de bloom," Loveson G. (Gabrielle) Flower, has thus in our anonymous name the different, inner aspects married as another motivating metaphor to better express and become Wholeness / Unity. Wholeness is the overriding hope and goal of Mind-Body-Heart Art.
Jeremy Taylor, the great teacher of Dream Work and author of many books about dreams, believes that every dream comes in the service of Health and Wholeness. Like many art pieces, the "Light of Love" is perhaps like a collection of dreams with similar goals and methods. In Dream Work, to find better Health and Wholeness, one must search for, find and then follow what is the meaning and message the Dream Maker sends.
Overall, "Light of Love" tries to express with artistic, multimedia tools; symbols and experiences about the longing for, hope for, deep pain about, and vision of - Love and its Light - in its many dimensions, changing seasons, complete and incomplete understandings and misunderstandings, and so much more.

Let Me Fall (from Cirque de Soleil)
This Youtube video of Cirque de Soleil's "Let Me Fall" is presented because it so artfully speaks to me of among life's greatest (and most difficult) lessons: to Let Go. To evolve, I must trust that the one I want and will become will catch the one that falls today. To become, I must find the courage to let go the "useless fears and chains." For wholeness, I must not miss "this one chance, this perfect moment" to fall so to climb past the place where "fear and dreams must collide."

"Picture Now is Coming Clear" - by Howard Katz
The picture now is coming clear.
Establishment has caused great fear.
They shout and plead and do exhort
All of their legions to sell short.
It’s true. This story must be told.
They have increased the shorts in gold.
From contracts, thousands, twenty-four,
They’ve added 30 thousand more.
They’re shorting crude, as you can see:
Contracts, thousands, ninety-three.
That’s why the price of gas is down
To $2.13 west side of town.
So get your car and fill your tank.
And buy your gold coins from the bank.
With all your assets don’t be rash.
The word to go by: cash is trash.
Cause Ben Bernanke’s printing dough.
And this, to people in the know,
Confirms what you have oft been told.
Go put your money into gold.
To sellers short, the day will come.
We’ll have the sellers on the run.
When broker tells them, “margin please,
And don’t forget commission fees.”

How to be Right and Left Brained for Unity?
Left Brain v Right Brain Test
February 25, 2008 12:00am
from www.couriermail.com.au
IT'S the Great Right Brain vs Left Brain Test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?
If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.
Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

Cerveau Gauche V Cerveau Droit

I believe this left-brained (word) description and right-brained (animation) demonstration of our predominate types of perceiving and interacting with the world describes a great deal why we often don't understand each other and ourselves. - Loveson
